I can't agree with John Barton (Echo July 30t Ifh),
I believe masks in shops should be mandatory as these appear to be the advice of the experts and is likely to protect not only the person but others in the shop.
If as he says some regard themselves as safe with a mask and need not socially distance themselves they need to be dealt with by the authorities.
I find it unlikely that people would be so foolish.
However, it seems some young folk, masks or not, do seem to feel unworried by large gatherings and this is very worrying.
However, I went to Lepe beach the other day and everyone young and old were behaving sensibly while queueing endlessly for food and toilets.
This was re-assuring.
