THE Nativity season is now upon us and parents and grandparents should know that there is no legal reason whatsoever that prohibits the taking of photos at such events.
Head teachers and church leaders are fully entitled to make their own rules, whether reasonable and unreasonable, but they should not quote the Data Protection Act as a reason for not allowing such photos. They should view the Press release of November 7 2007 on the Government Information Commissioners website before making restrictions. In my experience of arresting and dealing with perverted paedophiles during my police service such photos did not interest them - their warped minds only want vile obscene images.
