I ALWAYS thought it a diabolical liberty to be charged for parking when visiting a hospital. Making money out of the misfortune of being sick, on visiting the sick is obscene.
Now I see in a survey that Southampton is listed as the worst offender for making a profit of £2.4m out of parking at hospitals. Cambridge came second making £2.2m.
A token payment of 50p would have been acceptable.
Although there are many complaints about these charges, they will never give up this lucrative robbery.
