THE Spitfire wonderful as it was and beautiful as it is, will not, unfortunately, give Southampton its Wow factor, either on a roundabout or towering over the city as "the angel of the south''.
Southampton already has its Wow factor that will bring visitors to the city. The Liners.
It is unfortunate that the development that is taking place in the city will reduce our ability to view them even more than at present.
The announcement today of a fourth liner terminal will give the city, hopefully, an opportunity to have public viewing facilities built in, and this would be the obvious position for a maritime museum incorporating a Titanic display, especially as I believe that it will be close to the point where the Titanic sailed from.
