TOO often, these days, we hear and read of the National Health Service being criticised for a million and one failings. Well, I for one, wish to sing its praises to the high heavens.
Some time ago my brother, Terry was diagnosed with cancer in a fairly advanced stage. From that point on, the treatment and respect he received was second to none.
Everyone who came into contact with him, from the tea lady, receptionists, nurses, doctors and consultants, treated him like a close family member. All the medical staff spoke to him using his first name, which pleased us both.
They all knew, right up to date, the treatment he was receiving for it; no group of people could have done more, they were all just brilliant.
Money was no object throughout his treatment, both at the hospital and at home, which required 24 hours, 7 days a week, and there were a host of caring staff who assisted him right to the end. Thank you all very much, you were magnificent.
Mr COLIN KILLACKY, Dibden Purlieu.
