Why is the airport called Southampton Airport when it is clearly in the borough of Eastleigh.
The Councillors who voted for the airport expansion were only from the borough of Eastleigh and the majority of them do not live on or near the flight path for the airport so this does not affect them and was an easy decision to vote for the approval. If they lived on the flight path they would have all voted against it.
Surely if it is called Southampton Airport then all of Southampton Councillors should have voted with Eastleigh Councillors to make it fair.
The reason it is called Southampton Airport is that Southampton is better known place and so they are using the word Southampton to attract more users to the airport.
I think the airport should revert back to named Eastleigh Airport again and will it attract 3million people a year then I don’t think so.
