Once again, I pay tribute to the customers and staff of Asda in Totton for their donation of an amazing quantity and variety of gifts for the victims of domestic violence who live in the refuges in the New Forest.
It goes without saying that your kindness and generosity has had, and will continue to have, a profound and positive effect on the ladies and their children, who often arrive at a refuge with no more than they can carry.
It's good to know that, at Christmas time, there are so many people with hearts of gold, willing to give freely in order to make life easier for others.
In addition, I must offer, on behalf of the children at the refuges, my sincere thanks to the staff of Tomy Toys of Calmore, who donated two large boxes of brand new toys, which I know will be well used.
COUNCILLOR DAVE HIBBERT, Totton.
