I'M an OAP who is blind in one eye. One Sunday I had a problem with the other eye. There was no bus service and I did not have enough cash for a taxi.
However, a friend offered to take me to the eye unit at Southampton General Hopsital. He came in his car from Aldermoor to puck me up at Highfield.
He waited while I had a test done, then I was given a prescription. So we went to Asda and Tesco but both did not have the medicine, so he took home.
I wrote more than once to claim for petrol money for the kind person who spent a lot of cash on petrol. Finally I received a reply. What a insult. 46p! I couldn't give that to him.
I dare say many other people have had insults like this.
