I HAVE come to the conclusion that if our politicians fail to stop Gordon Brown signing away our independence without a referendum, the whole future for a democratically elected House of Commons will no longer be required.
If we are then expected to bend the knee to the un-elected mandarins in Brussels and accept even more of their foreign laws, then there will be no point in holding another general election for Westminster.
We would only need a vastly scaled down form of Government like a county council (regional assemblies?) to deal with minor domestic matters.
Perhaps this has some bearing on why Angela Merkel rushed over to see Gordon Brown when she was told he was planning an autumn general election.
No doubt, another five-year term would have been very inconvenient and run counter to their long-term plans.
It is quite clear; our politicians must either reject the constitution through a referendum or start planning their redundancy package, if they have not already done so?
It has to be one way or the other; there is no third way!
