IF COUNCILLOR Derek Tipp (Letters) has proof that certain charities are showing overt political bias, then he should produce firm evidence for the charities to investigate.

What is important that charity trustees visit the premises regularly, meet users of the service and where possible do some volunteer work for the organisation too.

Sometimes long serving charity staff seem to believe that they are running the organisation than working for it.

Sometimes there can be room for conflict when service users are also trustees despite the insistence of the charities commission that all trustees are treated equally.

I would be interested to hear from any charities as to how they may have dealt with such conflicts.

Secondly, on quite a few issues I would disagree with Jeremy Clarkson. He is right on one matter; British troops should not go to other countries unless there is a clear and present threat to their own.
