HOW long has it been playing politics to campaign for child safety (Daily Echo, January 18)? I have been campaigning for 20mph limits outside our schools for several years, having seen first hand the problems involved.
I have met with city council officers and have highlighted the issue in my leaflets and reports long before the current council took any action.
I am grateful to all those headteachers who agreed to help the campaign by passing letters to parents.
The letters were non-political and I am sure that the heads would not have touched them if they had been.
Perhaps most importantly, at the time of writing I have received hundreds of letters of support and not a single complaint.
