I WOULD like to say that having experienced a recorded funeral myself I find the idea that this may become common practice extremely upsetting.
My Uncle decided to record my nan's funeral almost a year ago, despite protests from almost all the family, as he wished to forward a recording on to members of the family who live in Australia. Although I understand that people don't want to be left out, I think this was hugely unfair to those present.
For me, my nan's funeral should have been a private experience and it just didn't feel right that mine and my family's tears were recorded for others to listen to.
There must be a better way for people to mourn than via a recording.
