USUALLY when I write to The Southern Daily Echo it is to complain about something or other.
Well today I wish to share an experience that made me feel good about the society in which I live.
I was travelling by bus to Southampton city centre; every seat was taken when the bus stopped to pick-up more passengers including elderly men and women.
My immediate thoughts were how in the old days the younger passengers would offer their seats to the ladies and older men.
Imagine my surprise and joy when as soon as the new passengers alighted on to the bus every woman and elderly man was immediately offered a seat by younger passengers.
I don't know how the passengers who had given-up their seats felt about this kind gesture, but I do know it made me feel good about the society in which I live.
Frank Bardsley, Southampton.
