I TOTALLY agree with Mrs A J Bryant (Letters, May 10) regarding Asda in Totton, the only difference being I started boycotting them about 18 months ago.
I, too, was frequently disappointed with, in particular, the quality and availability of fresh fruit and veg.
On one occasion I had only managed to spend about one third of my weekly budget as so many items were unavailable or such dreadful quality it was not worth buying.
I approached the manager whose response was to ask which day I was doing my "proper shop'' as I could pick up those missing items then.
I tried to explain I do not have children and this was my main shop! He just shrugged his shouders and offered no explaination.
Since that day I spend my hard earned money at Morrisons and have never regretted my decision.
I look forward to meeting Mrs Bryant there soon!
HELEN CHAPMAN, Totton.
