The New Forest Rangers are ordering kite boarders to cease.
My grandson is a sensible hard-working lad. He spent several hundred pounds that he had saved on a board and kite. He is revising hard for his imminent GCSEs. Surely it is a good thing if he takes an hour off from revision for some physical activity?
Kite boards do not cut up the Forest turf as do shod-horse riders and bikes. Participants just need the open space.
My grandson and his friend are sensible if there are other people around. The ponies take little notice of their activities. Often people stop and watch the boys demonstrating their skills.
Forestry Commission, stop hiding behind by-laws and don't be such kill-joys!
