THE problem of drunken people causing problems can be easily sorted under the present rules.
For many years it is and has been the responsibilty of the licensee to serve or to refuse to serve anyone considered to be unfit through alcohol.
So if a licensee or their staff are found to have served someone that is obviously drunk then suspend their licence for a few days.
I'm sure the loss of a weekend's takings would soon solve the problem without having to use our already overburdened police.
