IT'S glaringly obvious that Mrs Beasley of Weston (Letters May 5) is not a regular reader of the Daily Echo or she would have read the letter from Brenda Parkinson who got only as far as Lyndhurst before being turned off the Wilts & Dorset bus when she tried to go further or the other lady who was forced to pay £4.50 fare.

She may well have used her present pass to travel to the places she states but I would put that down to pure luck as to who the driver happened to be. And why is it the council is intending changing our present passes if they are already perfectly valid to travel anywhere?

It's Mrs Beasley who should be getting her facts right if she really believes these occurrences didn't happen. She may even be naïve enough to think that Southampton Council have made a good job of its promise over the new passes supposedly valid from April 1. I have no doubt she will be first in the queue if and when the new ones are finally issued, already over a month late.

Meanwhile, I'll be driving my car to be certain of reaching my destination anywhere outside Southampton boundary.
