Lorelei Reddin described an evening out at Poole Greyhound racing in Friday's Scene South.
Please, please listen to the other side, what happens that the public don't see.
An estimated 30,000 greyhounds are bred each year for racing. One third are thought to be disposed of before a year old. Many racers end their career after two years, and what happens then?
Many are exported abroad to live in appalling conditions while others are disposed of and not always humanely. And all for money! There are far too many to be be rehomed It is in the public's hands, support this industry and the sorry treatment will continue. Stay away and don't bet and it will decline.
