I AM looking forward to reading Terry Paine’s biography, which is being published on November 21.
My family and I have great memories watching what I believe was the best right winger in footballing history.
One memory my two oldest sons and I will never forget was when we were on our way home from church one Sunday about 40 years ago. We noticed Terry cutting the grass at his home. My sons called out ‘Hello Terry’. He made a fuss of the lads and then invited us into his home and showed us his football trophies.
As we were leaving Terry handed me a portfolio containing many treasured papers, photographs and telegrams.
Terry was not in when I brought the portfolio back but I would like to thank him. My sons, who are now in their late forties, and I are still ardent Saint supporters.
