Where are the police to catch sex offender?

I live very close to the footpath where this man approached a ten-year-old. I walk all the routes through footpaths, everyday, at various times, and since news of the incident has broken I've not seen one policeman patrolling the area.

I see them in cars, but what's the point driving around in a police car, when this man is roaming the footpaths?

I would like to see police officers out of the cars, and patrolling the area on foot.

Then the offender may be caught.

As a woman, I am now very cautious of walking those footpaths alone.
