WITH the hundredth anniversary of Titanic and reading all the papers and TV programmes, my Nanny saw that Millvena Dean was born on February 2, 1912, 100 years ago and was the longest survivor of that very sad tragedy.
I was also born on Febrary 2, but 2012, 100 years later at the Princess Anne Hospital in Southampton and she was the age I am now when she was put in the lifeboat to survive with her mother.
I feel very proud to share my birth date with such a wonderful lady and the longest survivor of that tragedy and my Nanny is saving all the memorabilia to put in my memory box for when I grow up.
With the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and Saints going up, what a memorable year to be born.
LILLIE MAY AUDREY COZENS (with a little help from my Nanny Audrey), Botley.
