BEING 80 years of age and having lived in Southampton all my life, I had to laugh at what the Labour leader of the council said, that now they are in they get to sort out the Tory mess.
What a joke that is. I can remember the good old city when we had an ice rink, outside lido, dog track, a wonderful pier, the rose gardens with its lovely fountains and lots, lots more.
Under the Labour council who were in for years, what did they give us? The WestQuay Shopping Centre, which is hard to get to at busy times because the roads in and out cannot cope with the amount of traffic due to bad planning. The rest of Southampton is just one big eyesore after another.
We have nothing that you could say “wow” about. Have a look at the waterfront – nothing to shout about. What a great waste.
Labour has, and always will, waste public money and then get us, the taxpayers, to try to bail them out.
MR A O’DELL, Southampton.
