IN reply to the Our Say comment in the Argus dated February 6. I’m a parent of three children who attend the school and I feel that farce is not a strong enough word to describe the whole situation, especially in light of the HSE findings which have totally discredited the Santia report. I can’t begin to imagine what might have happened if the school had not stood firm! I’m appalled that this situation has happened (and continues) and pupils and staff moved to a temporary site all on the say-so of this company. My children have been given unnecessary health counselling and we have been through the trauma of losing friends who have been moved to other schools.

However, what has been made apparent is the dedication the staff has towards the pupils and the school. They have been a huge support and have been there to mop up a few tears too as pupils have been frightened by various headlines in the press. No doubt staff have had many fears of their own but this has never shown. My expectations now are some answers from CCBC on their actions. This school needs to get back to where it belongs. It is at the heart of the local community. The school, parents and children need answers. I hope we will get them.
