A CYCLIST has been airlifted to hospital after a crash in Landford. 

Police were called to the crash involving a car and a cyclist at about 12.25pm near Lyndhurst Road. 

The male cyclist has been airlifted to Southampton General Hospital

A post from Salisbury Police on Facebook said: "We are currently dealing with a serious collision just past the Post Office in Landford."

South Western Ambulance Service were called to the scene at about 12.15pm and attended with an ambulance, air ambulance and two rapid response vehicles.

A spokesman said one patient was taken to Southampton General Hospital with reports of a head injury.

The road closures in Landford have now been lifted. 

Closures were in place at the Lyndhurst Road and Hamptworth Road junction and the New Road junction with Lyndhurst Road.
