THREE applications were refused by Winchester City Council planning officers using their delegated powers this week.

Mark Blanchard’s application was refused for demolishing an existing cottage and erecting a replacement dwelling including a new car port at Black Hill Cottage, Hundred Acres Road, Wickham.

Meanwhile, Sophia Lentzos’ application for a partial conversion of approximately two-thirds of a detached garage into an exercise room, while retaining the external-facing one-third as a garage space at 7 Clover Way, Bishop’s Waltham was also rejected.

No applications were withdrawn.

All other applications were permitted.

In Badger Farm, Mr and Mrs Alleyne have received retrospective permission for their garden room at 18 Ashbarn Crescent.

Mr and Mrs Bennett can convert their garage at 31 St Annes Close into habitable space, with an extension above the garage to create additional bedroom space in addition to reconfiguring the porch area.

In Bighton, Mr and Mrs Winstone, of Robin Hill, Goscombe Lane, Gundleton, can go through with their two storey extension and loft conversion.

In Littleton and Harestock, Jorundur Jorundsson’s application for internal alterations and extensions to provide additional bedroom, garage and porch at 4 St John Moore Close has been approved.

Andrew Taylor’s application for replacement of an existing shed at the end of his garden, with a garden room to be used as a summer house, was approved at 98 Buriton Road.

In Old Alresford, Nigel Wright had an application permitted for the installation of solar PV arrays to pitched roof areas, as well as the removal of existing timber shed, greenhouse and oil tank, and the installation of new LPG cylinders and boiler housing within a timber fence compound at Old Alresford Place, Colden Lane.

In South Wonston, Mr and Mrs Pickering can go ahead with their single storey extension, as well as installing a replacement roof, at 9 Stavedown Road.

In Swanmore, Keith Leaman has been granted permission to demolish and replace his porch at Woodstock, Chapel Road.

In Winchester Town, Mr Crooks, of 76 Stockbridge Road, Fulflood, has been granted approval for his loft conversion with rear dormer.

Garath Goodall, of Spicer Lodge, 1 Christchurch Road, can reconstruct the retaining wall of a footpath and fell three adjacent yew trees.

Mr and Mrs P Stroude, of 21 Courtenay Road, Abbotts Barton, have been granted permission for their proposed front porch.

P and K Wolfhagen, of 40 Fairfield Road, Fulflood, have been granted permission for their loft conversion with dormer.
