A cliff face has crumbled sending rocks crashing onto the beach below just metres from people's homes.

A large section of Newhaven's cliffs crashed onto the beach this morning with more of the rockface hanging precariously above the water.

The collapse happened just metres from a public footpath and a mobile home park housing hundreds of residents.

Aerial photos of the cliffs show people walking along the coastal path while large rocks hang from the cliff face.

The park is described as being a "marvellous environment" for "all the benefits that a coastal community has to offer".

Mobile homes in the park are on the market for over £160,000.

Berkeley Parks, who run the mobile home park, have been approached for comment.
