HAYES Hurricanes' ladies crcketers continued their good start to the season with a 71-run victory over Wallington-based Redoubtables.
Hayes have now won five matches out of five and currently stand top of the National League Division Two.
Natalie Lane (11) and Lynsey Askew (20) gave the Hayes team a solid start. But the mainstay of the Hurricanes innings was an excellent unbeaten 85 by Lydia Greenway.
She had partnerships of 41 with Askew and Beth Rose, who hit 13, of 58 for the second and third wickets.
Hayes lost wickets in the middle order, but eventually made 154 for 6 off their allotted 40 overs.
Redoubtable lost Wostrale and Stuttard early on to the accurate bowling of Lynsey Askew and Beth Rose, who took a wicket apiece.
Natalie Lane (2-10) and Hazel Lovegrove (3-8) continued the good work as wickets fell at regular intervals.
Amy Jackson batted well for 28 not out but Redoubtables could not find an answer to the strong Hayes bowling, finishing on 83-8, giving Hayes their 71-run victory.
