A CARTOONIST has helped to raise more than £1,000 for a multiple sclerosis charity.
Illustrator Danny Holland, who lives in Wivenhoe, suffers from MS and released a 2013 calendar last year to raise money for the Colchester branch of the MS Society.
It was sold in pubs, shops and community centres for £5 and despite it being May, they are still selling.
“I’m very proud to have been able to help,” said Mr Holland, 36, of Wivenhoe.
“I’ve been drawing for a long time and I really wanted to be able to help any way I can.”
Mr Holland added he will not be creating a 2014 calendar, but could re-visit the idea in for 2015.
Susan Rhys Jones, Colchester branch secretary, added: “People are very generous.
“In the Colchester branch we have 300 members and a lot more people who support us but perhaps are not members and I would say every single one has bought one.”
Mr Holland handed the £1,010 proceeds to the branch at the Hythe Community Centre, in Ventura Drive.
