LEDBURY Town played three matches in as many days to top West Midlands Football League Division Two and win silverware.

The New Street side triumphed 5-1 at home to Newport Town last Saturday and also 4-1 at Wolverhampton Sporting Community Reserves on Monday.

In between, the league leaders also won the Worcester Infirmary Junior Cup with a 5-2 victory over league rivals Malvern Town Reserves.

To complete a hectic schedule, some of the players were also involved for the Allstars Herefordshire Sunday League side as well just hours before the cup final.

Winning the league is the top priority ahead of tomorrow's penultimate match of the season at county rivals Bartestree (3pm).

Ledbury head the table by two points from Gornal Athletic Reserves who have two games in hand, while Hereford Lads Club are also in the mix.

Tom Boyle (2), Scott Roberts and Jamie Welch scored against Wolverhampton.

The cup final victory at New Street arrived courtesy of Welch (2), Joel Skyers, Boyle and an own goal from Malvern keeper Jake Bobo.

Malvern took a shock first-minute lead but did not score again until Mark Owen swooped late on.

Newport were beaten by strikes from Dan Herbert, Welch (2) and Boyle (2) in the league fixture.
