FURTHER to the letter of September 13, headlined “Fine was so unfair”, I have also been subject to the same heartless moneymaking scheme.
On August 23, I parked at B&M at Clifton Moor in a disabled bay and also forgot to display my badge.
I was in the store for five minutes before I realised and returned to my car to find that I had already been issued with a ticket and ordered to pay £100 (£60 if paid within 28 days). My appeal to UKCPS Car Parking Solutions was unsuccessful.
I am usually very diligent at displaying my badge.
However, I think that people can be forgetful when car parks are free.
I am a widower and retired, living on my pensions, so this was a huge amount to me. I wish to warn all customers who park in these free car parks that you must not park in disabled bays without displaying a badge as there are attendants lurking unseen just waiting to pounce.

• WITH regards to letter in The Press of September 13, headlined, “Fine was so unfair”, I was always under the impression that valid blue badges were handed out to people who couldn’t dash in and out of supermarkets.
