THE Circus Of Horrors made an outstanding return to the Lighthouse in Poole with its ‘fangtastic’ new show London After Midnight. The circus, which celebrated its 18 year anniversary last year, has been inspired to create this new show by the long lost 1927 movie London After Midnight.

From the moment they burst onstage under the charge of the fabulous undead ringmaster Doktor Haze, it is a breathtaking show.

The Sinister Sisters wow us with their aerial silk displays. The amazing Hannibal Helmurto with his floating ribs who not only can swallow a vast array of swords including the serpent sword and a cutlass but can swing a weight from a hook put through his nose piercing.

Michaela Marcus also astounded us with her balancing act. Then there is Captain Dan, or Dynamo Dan as he is known in this show – well what that man can do with a Henry cleaner is eye-watering. The crowd interaction from Dan and the wonderfully camp Douglas Disorderly has everyone in stitches. This is all set on a backdrop of 1660s London taking you from the plague ridden London to the Great Fire.

The acrobatic warriors perform a set that takes your breath away as does the great contortionist Vitalli.

There is hair hanging from Anastasia and the lady in the bottle Pandemonia. This is accompanied by the greatest rock soundtrack supplied by The Circus Of Horrors live band The Interceptors From Hell.

Doktor Haze is the glue that holds everything together and his vocals throughout the show are incredible, he is a showman of the Alice Cooper genre who should get a lot more recognition.

It’s the show for you if you like good live music, talented artists who all perform with their forked tongues firmly in their cheeks.
