MORE than 1,000 people took part in 50 free events in celebration of National Libraries Day.
Rawtenstall Library included a host of activities, from drumming to decorating cakes, knitting and kite making.
The event also featured a British sign language workshop, potato-printing, and henna paintings.
There was also a ‘talking book’, featuring a talk by Natalya, a Russian woman, who told stories about living in her home country.
