Falmouth's inshore lifeboat was launched at around 8pm on Tuesday evening after the coastguard reported concerns for the safety of two people on a yacht which had run aground.
The lifeboat was sent to the 40ft yacht Touchstone, which had missed the edge of the unmarked channel and had run aground in the Percuil River. The lifeboat headed up the river and located the yacht off Porth Creek.
An RNLI spokesperson said: "It was soon established that the skipper was happy with the situation and with low tide only 30 minutes away would wait for the incoming tide to refloat his boat. The inshore lifeboat helped lay out an anchor into the deeper channel to assist when the boat started to float on the incoming tide."
The lifeboat was crewed by volunteers: Sandy Procter (Helmsman), Tom Bird, Nick Head
