GOLFERS of all standards, from beginners to professionals, have been invited to take part in a Charity Golf day at TopGolf in Bushey Mill Lane on Wednesday, March 28. to raise money for the Peace Hospice in Watford.

Unlike conventional golf, TopGolf involves playing a target-based game with real clubs and tees which gives instant feedback on how far the ball has travelled and the number of points scored.

Points are accumulate as people play through a microchip in each ball which allows them to be tracked.

There will be three sessions on the day, at 11.30am, 2.30pm and 5.30pm.

Individuals and teams of up to five players can purchase tickets at £25 a session, or a Day ticket costs £55.

The cash raised on the day will go to the Peace Hospice in Peace Drive, Watford, which provides medical, clinical, spiritual and social care for up to 75 patients a week with terminal illness in the Hertfordshire area.

The Peace Hospice offers support for over 150 families a year through its social work programme and provides a bereavement counselling service, a cancer support group and a base for the six Macmillan community nurses who look after patients in their own homes. A 12-bed in-patient unit is currently under construction and due for completion in April 2001.

The new unit will provide 24-hour care for people with cancer and other terminal conditions. The service will cost £1.5million each year to run.

Tickets for the golf day will include two rounds of TopGolf per session, lunch or cocktail buffet, one years membership and entry to the TopGolf competition.

Tickets are available from Mrs Gill Crowson on 01923 330340.
