POLICE say their use of a mobile station in Radlett has prompted more approaches for help and advice from residents.

The mobile station has visited Radlett every two weeks for four months and 200 people have visited. Community chief inspector Dave Moore said: "The mobile unit is far more successful than the surgeries we had in terms of the numbers of visitors. It is far more accessible and visible and the number of visitors we get in one day is far more than we ever got with previous contact points."

So far almost 350 mobile phones have been security marked and numerous "stranger danger" packs handed out to children. The mobile station will visit Watling Street, Radlett, on Monday.
