A law-defence expert in the trial of a man accused of causing the death of Bradford schoolboy Bilal Khizar (pictured) by dangerous driving was yesterday examining the car and crash scene involved in the case.
Zain Khan, 21, of Halifax, is set to stand trial at Bradford Crown Court on February 4.
He is charged with causing the death of Bradford Academy pupil Bilal, 12, by dangerous driving, perverting the course of justice and other motoring offences.
Sara Hughes, 21, also of Halifax, has pleaded guilty to perverting the course of justice after a car struck and killed Bilal near Asda, in Rooley Lane, Bierley, Bradford, on October 6.
A case management hearing, at which Khan will enter pleas to the allegations, was put back five days until January 8 at Bradford Crown Court yesterday.
Judge Jonathan Durham Hall QC was told the extra time was needed for the law-defence expert to complete a report.
Khan and Hughes were remanded back into custody.
