A teenager who burgled student flats in Bradford city centre after a night out drinking has been ordered to do 180 hours of unpaid work.
Matthew Grayson, 19, climbed a gate and forced a window to raid communal areas at Kexgill House in Morley Street on July 5.
Grayson, a student, of Norbury Avenue, Ravenscliffe, Bradford, was committed to Bradford Crown Court for sentence by magistrates.
He pleaded guilty to taking a bin bag of items, including an X-box computer game console and clothing, with a juvenile who will be sentenced separately.
Judge Jonathan Rose yesterday sentenced Grayson to an 18-month community order with a three-month curfew order and unpaid work for the community.
The judge said he had not locked him up because of his age and he had not committed a burglary before.
