I observe and, after a few questions in the correct places, am informed that the roads within the Gore Cross Trading Estate are or are about to be adopted by the county department responsible for highways.
These roads are being resurfaced to a high standard as well as the pavements. Pavements which very few people walk along, especially at weekends when the trading facilities are mostly closed, causing the roads also to be little used.
The point I am making is that the authorities have said they will do something about the West Bay fiasco but cannot afford it yet, but can spend countless pounds on a road hardly used compared to the West Bay thoroughways which are and will be heaving with traffic all summer.
Another none urgent money spinner is the construction of a cycle track from Sea Road North to Fishweir Lane in Bradpole. One wonders how much that will get used. I really do think it’s high time some of our council chiefs got thier acts together and did what the ratepayers wanted.
