FANCY a wartime sing-a-long?

Marking the centenary of World War One and the 70th anniversary of D-Day, residents of Colden Common are invited to Pack up your Troubles – a singing event for the whole community.
On Monday June 2, from 11am-2pm, at Ashburton Hall in Winchester, the Sing For Your Life choir will lead a performance to remember fallen soldiers.
There will be refreshments and a light lunch provided.

THE date for the annual Hursley Village Fete has now been announced.
On Saturday (June 28) from 11.30am, John Keble Primary School will host the fete featuring Morris Men, a tug o’war, hook a duck, inflatable slides and stalls selling a range of arts, crafts and refreshments.

OWSLEBURY residents are urged to voice their thoughts on Hampshire’s bus services.
The county council is currently reviewing the level of service, including Owslebury, which is heavily subsidised.
Anyone with strong opinions has been asked to complete a questionnaire either online or by submitting a paper copy directly to Hampshire County Council. The online form can be accessed by visiting hants.gov.uk/passengertransport/transportconsultation2014.htm.

COMPTON and Shawford have seen a rise in the number of reported incidents of antisocial behaviour.
Despite overall crime statistics for the parish falling from last year, the chairman, Una Stevens, confirmed there has been a rise in antisocial behaviour.
PCSO Wilkinson presented a report which said there had been a number of events, including a report of suspicious behaviour in Park View, the theft of a motorbike and pushbike from Shawford Railway Station and the theft of two chainsaws from an unsecured shed in Southdown.

TWYFORD residents are reminded to take advantage of the Winchester City Council Small Grants Scheme.
The scheme aims to provide small grants easily available to local voluntary and community groups offering up to £500.
The funds can be used to buy equipment or cover other expenditure that will help local organisations reach more people and provide a better service.
