A MAN who works as a guide at the National Trust-owned former home of William Morris has written a new book about the house.

Malcolm Youngs, from Willersley Avenue, Sidcup, not only works at Red House in Bexleyheath, he is also a member of the Friends of Red House, a group set up to ensure the long-term protection of the house, built in 1860 by architect Philip Webb for his friend Morris.

The new book shines a light on the people who lived in the house, after Morris sold it in 1865, charting their lives and what they brought to the house.

The book, The Later Owners of Red House, costs £8 plus £1 postage and packing and is available from the Friends.
