On the morning of Saturday, January 13, I was walking across the pedestrian crossing in Brook Road, just by Stratfield Road.
The red lights were in my favour. Two cars coming from my left had stopped, and I was a quarter of the way across when I heard a terrible screech of brakes and looked to my right, to see a car coming very fast towards me. I froze on the spot and the driver swerved across the crossing in front of me and drove on, turning right into Hartforde Road. I was very badly shaken, but I managed to get home as I live near the crossing.
At 79 years, one can do without these shocks. The driver was going very fast.
My point is, can a sign be put up in Brook Road warning drivers of this crossing, as there are a lot of accidents there? It was badly planned in the first place.
