ANOTHER two animals have been killed in road accidents in the New Forest.
A chestnut mare was badly injured in a collision on the B3054 at Beaulieu Heath and had to be destroyed by one of the agisters.
Three days later a chestnut roan mare was hit by a vehicle on the B3055 Sway Road, Brockenhurst, and also had to be put down.
The ponies were wearing special glow-in-the-dark collars which aim to make animals more visible at night by reflecting car headlights.
Both collisions occurred at around 7.45pm.
Many of the animal accidents in the New Forest occur in the winter, when a large number of people are driving to and from work.
The Verderers are hoping the number of collisions will reduce as the days start to get lighter.
The growing number of people working from home because of the coronarvirus outbreak could also help.
