RESIDENTS have time until next month to have their say on revised plans to expand Southampton Airport’s runway.
New plans to extend the airport’s runway by 164 meters have now been submitted to Eastleigh Borough Council.
The consultation launched on July 14 will be live for 30 days.
- LETTER - Do we want a runway extension when travel industry is on its knees?
- Airport Expansion Opposition (AXO) criticises Southampton Airport's plans
As reported, the plans have sparked criticisms with residents and campaigners raising concerns over the impact of the proposals on pollution, climate change and the environment.
Southampton and Winchester councils objected to the plans last year.
But airport bosses said the revised plans are no longer about growth but about survival.
They said 2,000 jobs would be at risk and the future of the airport would not be guaranteed if the plans are refused.
A final decision will be made by Eastleigh councillors.
