POLICE dispersed more than 40 people who flouted new Covid-19 rules by flocking to a house party.
Officers attended an address in Stansted Road, Southsea, at around 4.30am yesterday to discover the property was packed with revellers.
It comes despite new rules which prohibit social gatherings of more than six people.
The so-called Rule of Six aims to help reduce the spread of coronavirus and thus ward off the threat of Covid-19 killing up to 200 people a day by the middle of November.
Hampshire Response Cops tweeted a warning to other residents after breaking up the gathering.
They said: βAt 4.30am E-Shift Cosham dispersed a party in Southsea with over 40 people in attendance - certainly more than 6!
"Remember - the rules are in place to protect the most vulnerable. Just because you're healthy does not guarantee others are.β
A Hampshire Constabulary spokesperson said no fines had been issued in connection with the incident.
