PLANS to upgrade a house in the New Forest National Park have been withdrawn by the applicant.
The Lymington-based National Park Authority (NPA) is no longer studying a proposal to build a two-storey extension to a property at Whartons Lane in Ashurst.
Ashurst and Colbury Parish Council had urged the NPA to approve the application. In a letter to the authority it said: "The proposals are in keeping with the existing property and surrounding area and comply with the requirements of (planning) policies."
But a neighbour lodged an objection, describing the size of the proposed extension as "excessive".
They added: "It will be massively imposing on our property and overshadow our patio area."
