PLANS to upgrade a conservatory in the New Forest National Park have been withdrawn by the applicant.
The Lymington-based National Park Authority (NPA) is no longer studying an application relating to a semi-detached Victorian cottage at Marley Mount, Sway.
The applicant had sought consent to carry out alterations to the walls and roof of a conservatory.
Their application said: "As is common with conservatories it becomes too hot in summer and unusable in winter. Thus the
proposal is to change the roof to a flat roof with a glass lantern with very high thermal insulation.
"Most of the windows which face the side boundary would be replaced by a cavity wall.
"This would increase the privacy between the two houses and also significantly improve the thermal insulation of the conservatory."
But the application was opposed by Sway Parish Council.
In a letter to the NPA it said the proposed alterations suggested that the conservatory was going to be turned into an extension of the house.
