A DECISION taken by planning chiefs in the New Forest has been challenged by the applicant.
An appeal after been lodged after the district council rejected an application to build a bungalow beside Tichbourne Cottage at Hatches Lane in Moortown, Ringwood.
The council said the scheme would result in the loss of surrounding trees, which would be detrimental to the character of the area.
It added: "The impact of the proposed development on the New Forest Special Area of Conservation, the New Forest Special Protection Area and the New Forest Ramsar site would not be adequately mitigated.
"The development would be likely to unacceptably increase recreational pressures on these sensitive conservation sites."
