A BIKER and his passenger have been badly hurt in a crash in the New Forest.
Police, paramedics and an air ambulance were called to a collision involving a car and a motorcycle on a long, straight section of road on Friday afternoon.
A 26-year-old motorcyclist and his 22-year-old female passenger were taken to hospital with serious injuries.
A photograph posted on social media shows several emergency service vehicles at the scene, including an least one ambulance and air ambulance which had landed a short distance away.
A police spokesperson said the accident occurred at Beaulieu Road, Boldre, at 4.45pm.
Hampshire Constabulary’s Roads Policing Unit issued a warning to motorcyclists after attending another serious crash in the county on the same afternoon.
Officers were called to a single-vehicle crash in Stafford Road, Petersfield, at around 3.30pm on Friday.
A 48-year-old motorcyclist was rushed to hospital with serious injuries.
The warning said: “Motorcyclists, with a good weather weekend on the horizon, please be careful if you choose to make your essential journey on your bike!
“We have already dealt with two serious injury RTCs this evening. Thanks to South Coast Ambulance Service , Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance and Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service for their help”
