A GARDEN shop has been given planning permission to retain a patio to provide extra seating for a tea room.
The New Forest National Park Authority has approved an application relating to Hyde Garden Shop at Gorley Lynch, near Fordingbridge.
A report to members said: "Consent is sought to retain a pergola and seating area which has been created in the corner of the garden nearest the tea room.
"The structure is relatively small and set in a generous garden area.
"It is in the corner furthest from the road, which reduces its visual impact outside the site.
"Overall it has no detrimental impact in the locality and preserves the character and appearance of this part of the conservation area."
