A TEENAGE boy was rushed to hospital after he was attacked and left with head injuries.

The incident occurred at around 4pm yesterday at Beaulieu Road, Eastleigh.

A police spokesperson said boy became involved in an altercation with a group of individuals. He fell down the steps of a footbridge and was further assaulted.

"He was taken to Southampton General Hospital and treated for head injuries, although they are not serious or life-threatening.

"We are aware of reports of the incident being recorded on mobile phones and we would ask that these are not shared on social media.

"Were you in the area at the time? Did you see what happened?"
